Location:
Minimum 3 days per week on site in Reutlingen or Achenmühle. Regular travel to other group sites in Germany, Switzerland, France & Czechia and occasional international travel (UK & Ireland)
The Role
Reporting to the Director of Sustainability & HSE and with oversight from Wörner Group and Medi-globe Group management boards. The role-holder is responsible for supporting the implementation and maintenance of health, safety and environmental (HSE) management systems, processes, associated assurance programmes and reporting for DCC Vital businesses and sites based in continental Europe.
The HSE Partner – EUROPE works closely with business Management and Safety Coordinators, assisting in building risk assessments and safe working practices. The role is responsible for conducting site safety audits and inspections and wider HSE based system audits, ensuring timely reporting of these to Management through the audit reporting systems. The HSE Partner provides appropriate HSE advice relating to risk management and compliance helping to ensure continuity and safe operations are maintained. Additionally they work with the business management teams to ensure the training and competency requirements across disciplines are clear, understood and executed.
Working within the wider DCC Vital HSE team, the HSE Partner is responsible for ensuring Group HSE Standards are embedded within the DCC Vital businesses and that HSE reporting is maintained and actioned each month. The role is also the champion of the Safety F1rst programme and initiatives and helps coach and build the Safety F1rst mindset and safety culture within the businesses.
Key Responsibilities
Support the development and implementation of the Group Health, Safety & Environment Management (HSE) System in line with the DCC HSE Expectations for DCC Vital businesses based in continental Europe.
Support business Safety Coordinators, both remotely and on site, to implement and manage HSE requirements for their sites/businesses including development of local policies and procedures and maintenance of HSE records
Oversight and support of timely Accident/Incident and Good Save reporting, escalation (where required), investigation and close out
Support for the development of suitable and sufficient operational HSE Risk Assessment and compliance programmes in conjunction with operational teams.
Lead and project manage roll-out of Group HSE initiatives, projects and communications programme including Safety F1rst, Learning from Events for DCC Vital businesses based in continental Europe
Support the businesses with HSE regulatory compliance and certification including audits/inspections, responses and corrective action plans
Conduct audits/inspections/visits to verify compliance with Group HSE standards and legislation and support best practice development.
Oversight and support of the delivery of relevant training requirements such as Manual Handling, Display Screen Equipment, First aid, Fire warden, Accident investigation, Risk Assessment
Local System Manager (super-user) for DCC Cority IT system for continental European businesses and support for sites in use of the system and other HSE IT systems applicable
Collation and reporting of HSE data and input to management and key stakeholders including for monthly HSE Performance meetings and reports
Coordinate regular HSE review programme to examine performance, identify areas requiring action, review development activities, agree actions and communication of same.
Member of Group HSE Team supporting HSE strategy, policy development, initiatives and audits
Participate in HSE Working Groups as organised by the parent company
Support the sharing of best practices across DCC Vital sites
Maintain good professional working relationships both internally and externally

Experience & Qualifications
The role-holder will have the following:
Minimum of three years’ demonstrable experience in HSE role
Relevant qualification in Health & Safety e.g. NEBOSH Certificate
Good working knowledge of Health, Safety & Environment legislation
Auditor Certified (e.g. ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO45001 or equivalent) desirable
